Amid the ongoing crisis, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday ordered the formation of a high-level, four-member committee to thoroughly review and assess the situation. The authority stated that IndiGo failed to adequately prepare for the implementation of the revised duty periods, flight duty periods, flight time limitations, and prescribed rest periods under the FDTL CAR 2024.

The authority also provided temporary relief to IndiGo by way of rolling back the night duty definition to 12 am-5 am from 12 am-6 am. However, the pilots' body, Airlines' Pilots Association (ALPA) has raised objections by stating that the relaxation was against the court's directives.

"ALPA India expresses its deep concern that this step directly contradicts the Court's directions, which mandate the enforcement of fatigue-mitigation standards rooted in aviation science," the Association said in a statement late Friday.
