IndiGo Crisis: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday decided to constitute an Oversight Team of eight members in view of passenger inconvenience caused due to large-scale disruptions in the operations of IndiGo Airlines at various airports across India.
Two members from the team will be deployed at IndiGo Corporate office in Gurugram on daily basis and they will look into following areas - total fleet, average stage length, total number of pilots, network details, crew utilisation in hours, monthly/daily, dead heading (DH for flight duty), crew under training, split duties, all unplanned leaves per day (like Sick leave, casual leave and emergency leave), flights per day and available crew, total number of sectors affected on account of crew shortage, standby crew per day and per base (cockpit and cabin).

Officers deployed at IndiGo Corporate office will monitor the status of the following - cancellation status: domestic and international, refund status: airline and OTA platform/ travel agents, on time performance, compensation to the passengers as per CAR, baggage return. Both these teams will submit a daily report by 6 pm to the Joint Director General, Jai Prakash Pandey.

Meanwhile DGCA has directed crisis-ridden IndiGo's Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers to appear at its office on Thursday and submit a complete report, along with comprehensive data and updates, relating to the recent operational disruptions, a statement said on Wednesday.
Elbers has been asked to appear at the DGCA office at 3 pm on Thursday. DGCA also said that the CEO, along with senior officials from all relevant departments, has been instructed to attend the meeting.
