IndiGo on Wednesday announced that it will revise fuel charges on domestic and international routes for all new bookings made from April 2, 2026. This comes after the government increased the prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).

"IATA’s Jet Fuel Monitor indicates over 130 per cent increase in fuel prices for the region on a month-on-month comparison. However, in support of air travellers and the aviation industry, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) have decided to pass only a partial and staggered increase of 25 per cent to the airlines for domestic operations," the airline said.

The revised fuel charges will vary by distance, ranging from Rs 275 to Rs 10,000 on domestic and international flights from April 2.

"With this clarity, IndiGo has also recalibrated its domestic Fuel Charge to vary by different travel distances. All domestic bookings made from 0001 hrs on 02 April 2026 will include the following revised fuel charges per sector," the airline added.

IndiGo Revises Fuel Charges For New Booking From April 2

IndiGo has announced that it will start levying revised fuel charges on all domestic and international flights from April 2, 2026. These revised fuel charges may vary depending on the region and distance travelled by the aircraft.

For domestic routes between 0 and 500 kilometres, the fuel charge is Rs 275. For distances ranging from 501 to 1,000 kilometres, the charge is Rs 400. Routes covering 1,001 to 1,500 kilometres will attract a fuel charge of Rs 600, while those between 1,501 and 2,000 kilometres will be charged Rs 800. For distances above 2,000 kilometres, the fuel charge is Rs 950, according to the airline.

The airline further stated that all international bookings made from April 2, 2026, will attract a revised fuel charge ranging from 900 to Rs 10,000, news agency PTI reported.

For the Indian Subcontinent, routes up to 500 kilometres will attract a fuel charge of Rs 900, while those above 500 kilometres will be charged Rs 2,500. In the GCC and Middle East region, routes up to 2,000 kilometres will attract a fuel charge of Rs 3,000, and distances beyond 2,000 kilometres will incur a charge of Rs 5,000.

For Southeast Asia and China, the fuel charge will be Rs 3,500 for routes up to 2,000 kilometres and Rs 5,000 for distances above 2,000 kilometres. Routes to Africa will carry a flat fuel charge of Rs 5,000.

Routes to Greece and Turkey will be charged Rs 7,500, while routes to the UK and the rest of Europe (excluding Greece and Turkey) will attract a fuel charge of Rs 10,000.
