Indore's Gulzar Colony is currently the centre of attention due to a very special guest. Resident Moin Khan has brought a unique goat from Punjab, attracting visitors from far and wide. Approximately two and a half years old, this goat has become a subject of curiosity throughout Indore due to its size, weight, and VIP lifestyle. It will be sacrificed on Thursday on the occasion of Eid al-Adha or Bakrid.
Goat’s Royal Diet
The goat weighs approximately 215 to 220 kilogram, making it possibly the heaviest goat in Indore. Its height from ground to neck is approximately 5 feet and its length is 65 inches. Moin Khan explains that this goat has been raised just like a child.
Its daily diet includes 2 litre milk, 250 gram of mixed dried fruits (cashews, almonds, walnuts, and raisins), and approximately 8 to 10 kilogram of green leaves. To protect it from the scorching heat, the goat is kept in a cooler for 24 hours and is given only cold water to drink, as per a report by Naiduniya.
People Ready To Pay Rs 8 Lakh
This goat belongs to Punjab's famous "Beetle" breed, with brown spots on its body. Moin purchased it from a friend in Punjab a year ago for Rs 1,20,000 and travelled two days to bring it to Indore. After a year of proper care and good feeding, several buyers approached him.
Enthusiasts offered as much as rs 8 lakh for the goat, but Moin flatly refused to sell it. Moin said that he has always been passionate about raising rare and heavy goats for sacrifice and brought this goat solely for this sacred purpose.
In another update, three people were injured after a dispute broke out over tying sacrificial goats ahead of Bakrid in a Thane housing society. The matter escalated after residents and local Hindu outfits raised objections to the extra space being provided for tying the goats. The residents also raised slogans, recited Hanuman Chalisa, and tried to bring a pig into the complex, leading to the escalation. The officials stated that the situation has been brought under control, adding that security has been increased in the society.
As per the local officials, the controversy erupted at Srishti Complex in the Poonam Cluster area earlier on Sunday after the Hindu outfits raised objections to the setting up of a temporary shed, reported news agency PTI. While the shed was dismantled, the matter further escalated after Muslims gathered in the region on Monday.
