Making BJP’s stand on ‘inheritance tax’ clear, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said their ideology was clear and they had no plans to unleash any such tax on people in India. In an interview with News18 channel, PM Modi said the BJP would go by its manifesto and there was no point in imposing someone else’s idea on them.

“We adhere strictly to our own manifesto, outlining our plans and ideology. There's no reason to presume we would adopt the agenda of someone else. Our commitment lies solely with our manifesto and the work we promise to undertake for the nation. Please refrain from attributing their ideas to us,” PM Modi said.

He said land records of people will be scrutinised and the fortune will be redistributed.

"X-ray implies an intrusive search into every household. Even personal assets like gold, possibly hidden alongside grains, would be targeted for confiscation. Land records would undergo intense scrutiny, followed by redistribution. Such radical notions, reminiscent of Maoist ideology, have historically yielded little benefit. This is a quintessential urban Naxal concept," he said.

PM Modi, during his several poll campaigns, said Congress will confiscate the assets of people and will redistribute them among the Muslims. However, Congress says they have only mentioned cast survey in their manifesto and there was not any point of seizing the assets of people.
