IRCTC Service Down Today: The IRCTC app (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) and online website faced an outage on Thursday. Several social media users took to X and mentioned about the outage saying that they were unable to book a ticket. However, ITCTC has still not reacted to it.
If you open the IRCTC website, you can see a message on the screen reading, "Due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing service will not be available. Please try later."
Taking to X, a netizen tagged Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and PM Modi and wrote, "@RailMinIndia @AshwiniVaishnaw @PMOIndia when this fraud will stop , always at 10am irctc website crashes and when you open again all tatkal tickets get booked but only premium tickets with double prices are available, this is clear scam by @IRCTCofficial @raghav_chadha."
A second social media user wrote, "India reached the moon, but the Indian Railways ticket booking app can't handle Tatkal booking without crashing. It's 2024, and a stable server shouldn't be rocket science!."
"How can IRCTC website go down during tatkal timings???Why are we even bothering about building a bullet train when we can't even build a fucking website??,"a third user said.

IRCTC has faced its second major disruption this month, with the e-ticketing system undergoing a one-hour maintenance on December 9.
The outage on Thursday infuriated passengers attempting to book Tatkal tickets, which can be purchased one day before the train’s scheduled departure. AC class bookings begin at 10 AM, and non-AC class bookings start at 11 AM.
