Noida News: An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, Saurabh Meena, was arrested by the Noida police in the suicide case of a woman whose body was found in his home. The body was recovered from the flat located in Noida’s Lotus Boulevard complex, Sector 100. The police personnel found the body of Shilpa Gautam, a Human Resources official at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), hanging in one of the rooms of the apartment.

Shilpa Gautam's family has alleged that Shilpa and Saurabh had been in a relationship for the past three years after they met on a dating app. However, the woman’s father, OP Gautam, has accused Saurabh of deceit and physical abuse. He has claimed that Saurabh had promised to marry Shilpa but failed on his commitment, leading to frequent arguments and alleged physical assaults.

Saurabh has however refuted the claims stating that though he met Shilpa through a dating app, the duration of relationship has been incorrectly projected by the woman’s family and that he had met her just three months ago.

In the complaint filed by the woman’s father to Sector-39 police, he has accused the IRS officer of murdering his daughter. He further alleged that Saurabh lured Shilpa with false promises of marriage and repeatedly abused her. The police registered the matter.

The post-mortem report is awaited to confirm the exact cause of death. The mobile phones of both individuals and the CCTV footage from the society is being scanned to put together the sequence of events leading to Shilpa's death.
