ISRO LVM3-M6 Blueird Launch: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched the LVM3 M6 mission at 8:54 AM from Sriharikota, marking a significant milestone in global telecommunication. This commercial flight, under an agreement with the US-based firm AST SpaceMobile, utilises India’s heavy-lift Launch Vehicle Mark-3 to deploy a BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite into Low Earth Orbit (LEO).
Unlike previous missions focused on deep-space exploration or national capability, this launch will facilitate direct-to-smartphone connectivity, whichw ill provide cellular broadband to remote areas without the need for traditional ground towers or specialised hardware and strengthen global mobile connectivity.

How ISRO BlueBird Block 2 Mission Could Impact Mobile Connectivity?
ISRO’s LVM3-M6 mission marks a significant shift in global connectivity as it deploys the BlueBird Block-2, a satellite designed to provide space-based cellular broadband connectivity directly to standard smartphones.
- Unlike traditional satellites that require specialised ground stations or equipment, this satellite connects directly with standard, unmodified 4G and 5G smartphones.
- It features a 223-square-meter phased array, making it the largest commercial communications satellite ever deployed into Low Earth Orbit (LEO), news agency PTI reported.

- The constellation is built to provide seamless voice, video, text, and high-speed data streaming to users in remote areas where traditional towers cannot reach.
