Google, in collaboration with Dainik Jagran and Vishvas News, is running the 'Digital Safety for Senior Citizens: Sach Ke Sathi' campaign under its prestigious 'DigiKavach' program. As part of this initiative, a seminar was organised for senior citizens in Noida on Saturday, November 1. Participants were trained on digital safety measures.
The program, held in association with the RWA Sector 40, took place at the sector's community center. Vishvas News trainers explained that mobile phones have become an essential part of people’s lives today. As a result, crimes related to them have also increased rapidly, making vigilance crucial. Experts cautioned participants about fake job and investment scams, underlining the importance of such awareness programs.
Vishvas News Deputy Editor Devika Mehta, while inaugurating the program, emphasized its significance. She said that this awareness campaign is being conducted to alert people about cybercrime. “Scammers target your social media or Google accounts. To avoid them, your password should be strong. A line from a song or poem can also reveal the password,” she said. She also explained the concept of phishing links and advised against clicking on them.
Vishvas News Senior Sub-Editor Jyoti Kumari, while explaining scam techniques to the audience, said that during festivals, cybercriminals often send phishing links with tempting messages. Clicking on such links can transfer personal data to scammers, who may misuse it for financial gain. She also spoke about fake loan app scams and advised participants to check the list of registered apps issued by the RBI before applying for loans.
Sector 40 RWA President Tilak Raj praised the initiative, thanked Dainik Jagran, and said that such programs are a necessity in today’s digital age.

On November 2, a seminar will be held at the Arya Samaj Mandir in Inderpuri, Delhi, under the “Digital Safety for Senior Citizens: Partners of Truth” campaign. Organized in collaboration with the Senior Citizens Forum of Inderpuri, the event will begin at 12:30 pm.
