Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024 Live Voting:  Phase 1 polling has begun across 43 assembly seats in Jharkhand, encompassing 17 general seats, 20 reserved for Scheduled Tribes and six reserved for Scheduled Castes. Voters in 15 districts will elect their representatives, with 683 candidates vying for these seats. A total of 15,344 polling stations have been set up across the constituencies.

The main contest in Jharkhand is between the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led INDIA bloc and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance. Among the prominent candidates in the fray are former Chief Minister Champai Soren, who recently joined the BJP ahead of the elections; Health Minister and Congress leader Banna Gupta; Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji; Geeta Koda, wife of former Chief Minister Madhu Koda; and Purnima Das, daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Raghubar Das.

The second phase of polling is scheduled for November 20 in the remaining 38 constituencies, and the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
