Jharkhand Schools Closed: The Jharkhand government has ordered the closure of all schools in Jharkhand on Saturday (August 3) in view of the Meteorological Department's forecast of heavy rainfall across Jharkhand on Saturday. Umashankar Singh, Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, has issued an order in this regard. This order will be applicable to all government and private schools from KG to the 12th grade.

The state government has issued instructions to the Deputy Commissioners of the districts, warning of heavy rainfall. They have been asked to immediately implement protective measures in view of such a situation. Disaster Management has alerted all the districts in this regard. A special bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department has also been attached in this regard, which mentions that heavy rainfall is forecast.

There has been excessive rainfall at some places in Garhwa, Palamu Chatra, Latehar, Hazaribagh, and Gumla of the state. Apart from this, heavy rainfall occurred at some places in Koderma, Giridih, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Khunti, Deoghar, Jamtara, and Simdega.

There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at some places in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, and Latehar districts on August 3. This poses a greater risk of flooding rivers as well as mining areas. Heavy rainfall can damage standing crops. Due to this, there can be an impact on electricity and drinking water supply as well.
