As of February 20, 2025, Sonamarg is experiencing cloudy conditions with temperatures around -5 degrees Celsius. The high is projected to reach -5 degree Celsius, with a low of -13 degree Celsius.  Tourists are advised to dress warmly and exercise caution due to the slippery conditions.

The region has witnessed moderate snow around 10 AM today, with snowflakes blanketing the valley allowing a breathtaking view for residents and tourists

Sonamarg is a scenic hill station located in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district, the hill station is situated approximately 80 km northeast of Srinagar. The region provides a delightful experience for tourists as along with the mesmerising view, the place allows tourists to indulge in activities like trekking, fishing and camping. Various treks lead towards breathtaking views through lakes like Vishansar, Krishansar and Gangabal.

In addition to Sonamarg, several regions in Jammu Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh have recently experienced fresh snowfall. The higher reaches of the Chenab Valley and South Kashmir located in Jammu and Kashmir have received moderate snowfall. 

In Himachal Pradesh, tourist destinations such as Kufri, Narkanda, Manali, Solang Valley, Dalhousie, and Sissu have experienced light to moderate snowfall, enhancing their appeal to visitors.
