Five migrant labourers and a doctor were killed in a terrorist attack in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday.
The assault took place near a tunnel under construction, leading to a swift reaction from security personnel. Authorities indicated that the victims were members of a construction crew engaged in the Z Morh tunnel project, aimed at linking Gaganeer to Sonamarg in Central Kashmir.
The two deceased individuals were quickly taken to a hospital following the shooting but were pronounced dead upon arrival. The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the terrorist attack in a post on X, stating, "Terror incident in Gagangeer, Ganderbal. The area has been cordoned off by security forces. More details will follow."

Earlier on Friday, a non-local labourer was killed in a terrorist attack. His body was discovered under suspicious circumstances, with bullet wounds, in a maize crop in the Wandina area of Shopian, South Kashmir. The deceased was identified as Ashok Kumar Chauhan, a resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar.
