During the court hearing, Meena admitted that he had entered the house to steal money and said, “It was my mistake, but I cannot say anything now.”
According to an ANI report, when the judge asked Meena why he had broken into the house, he replied that he had entered the house to steal money. When questioned further about committing other offences, he said, “Mujhse apradh ho gaya, Galti ho gayi (I committed a crime, a mistake).
Agar didi paise de deti to aisa nahi hota (If sister had given the money, this would not have happened)," he said during interrogation.
The accused, who reported worked at the IRS officer's house for eight months, was removed a month earlier over allegations of financial wrongdoing.
Meena - A Wanted Criminal
The accused, who is originally from Rajasthan, has a criminal history and was wanted for sexually assaulting another woman Tuesday night. According to the police, the accused had also allegedly sexually assaulted his friend's wife. After the villagers gathered, Meena, to save himself, "ran atop a hill called ‘Kali Pahari’ and hid there for the next two and a half hours until the villagers left,” an official said.
Meena later reached Delhi the next morning, and allegedly entered Kailash Hills at around 6:30 am, where he raped and killed the IRS officer’s daughter.
