Karnataka Suicide: A first-year engineering student died by suicide in her hostel room in Karnataka's Kodagu district. Tejaswini, 19, was a first-year AIML student at Halligattu CET College in Ponnampet.
The Kodagu Police discovered a suicide note at the spot in which Tejaswini allegedly indicated that she was ending her life owing to academic pressure. She claimed to have six academic backlogs and refused to complete her education, according to ANI.
Tejaswini was Mahantappa's only daughter and lived in Raichur, northeastern Karnataka.
The deceased just celebrated her 19th birthday with her friends, according to a report from India Today. She allegedly gave out sweets to people who couldn't make it to her birthday party on Wednesday.
A classmate discovered Tejaswini's room door was locked from the inside at about 4:30 PM. The hostel supervisor was notified when calls and knocks went unanswered. Tejaswini was not responding as they pried open the door. Nearby, a message indicating academic pressure was found.
In another incident, a UPSC aspirant from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Asha Uikey, died by suicide after struggling with repeated setbacks in her exam preparation. Her final written words were a haunting reminder of her dedication and pain: "No one becomes an IAS just like that, wake up from sleep now you have to read."
Asha, 25, had been living in rented accommodation in the Hiranagar police station area while preparing for the UPSC exams. Despite her determination, the pressure and continuous failures took a toll on her mental health.
Days before her mother was scheduled to visit after learning about her daughter's emotional struggles, Asha ended her life, according to an NDTV report.
