Karnataka Govt To Launch Gruha Lakshmi Scheme On August 30; Know Eligibility Criteria, Benefits, How To Apply

The Gruha Lakshmi guarantee scheme, which provides Rs 2,000 monthly allowance to women heads of BPL families, will have a grand inauguration event in Mysuru city on August 30. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaih announced that the event will be attended by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.

CM Siddaramaih said that this is a huge initiative in the nation, costing the government Rs 32,000 crore for a year and Rs 18,000 crore for this year alone. He added that 1.33 crore families with women heads will benefit from this scheme. He claimed that the guarantee schemes will increase the income of poor households by Rs 4,000 - Rs 5,000 per month, which will boost the purchasing power in the society and the economic and GDP growth. 

Eligibility Criteria For Gruha Lakshmi Scheme: 

To be eligible for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, women must be from Antyodaya, BPL or APL households. 

The scheme will benefit women who are recognized as the family heads in the Antyodaya, BPL or APL ration cards issued by the Government.

The scheme will only cover one woman per family.

Women who work for the government or pay taxes are not eligible for the scheme.

Women whose husbands pay income tax or file GST returns are also excluded from the scheme.

How To Apply For Gruha Lakshmi Scheme 

To apply online for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, which started on 18 July, eligible women can follow these steps:

Step 1: Go to the Seva Sindhu Guarantee Schemes Portal.

Step 2: Select the ‘Gruha Lakshmi Yojana’ option.

Step 3: Click on the link that appears in the pop-up box.

Step 4: Enter the necessary information for the scheme and upload the documents.

Step 5: Press the submit button and save the application form number for future use.

To apply offline for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, women can visit Grama One, Bangalore One or Karnataka One office, Bapuji Seva Kendras or Nada Kacheris and get the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme application form. They need to fill the form and attach the required documents. The state officials will visit each household to register the beneficiaries. The Seva Sindhu Guarantee Schemes Portal will display the list of beneficiaries.

After applying for the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, women can check their application status on the Seva Sindhu Guarantee Schemes Portal. The government will announce the list of beneficiaries on the official website.
