Karnataka News: A shocking incident unfolded in Karnataka's Gadag after an elderly woman killed her grandson. The accused was reportedly upset over her daughter-in-law, Nagarthna, embracing motherhood at an early age. The incident came to light when Nagarthna lodged a complaint against her mother-in-law accusing her of killing her son, Advik.

Nagarthna further said that she had returned to her in-laws' house five months after the delivery and was criticised by the accused for embracing motherhood so early. Upset over the same, the accused fed the infant betel nuts and leaves leading to his death, she added.

The infant's last rites were conducted on November 22, however, the body was exhumed on November 24 and was sent for autopsy. Meanwhile, the grandmother has refuted the allegations and has pleaded innocence. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
