Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness a sharp drop in temperature in the upcoming days. The weather department also stated that the coastal districts are set to experience a cold wave and mist in the early hours of the day. The presence of dense fog will reduce the visibility, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. While there is no major rain alert for the next few days, the coastal regions are expected to witness light rain on Saturday. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings in the morning hours to avoid inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that the temperature is set to drop in several districts, including Belgaum, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Dharwad, and Gadag. These regions are also likely to witness cold waves and dense fog. The IMD stated that dense fog will persist in the early hours, adding that the temperature will gradually increase from afternoon to evening. It further stated that the schools and other educational institutions will be closed in the upcoming weeks if the situation worsens.

The weather department also stated that light to moderate rainfall is expected in some regions, including Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Mangalore, for the next three to four days. The continuous rainfall in these regions is likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages. The capital city, Bengaluru, is also likely to witness a drop in temperature in the upcoming days.
While the maximum temperature of the tech city is likely to be calculated at 27 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 16 degrees Celsius. However, the minimum temperature is likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius in the upcoming days.
