Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that along with heavy rainfall, the coastal regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour. The IMD also stated that the continuous rainfall will lead to several issues, including waterlogging and power outages in several key cities. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Ballari, Raichur, Vijayapura, Bagalkote, and Yadgiri, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. Apart from this, several other coastal districts, such as Birugali and Gudugu, are also set to receive heavy rainfall, leading to inconveniences.
The weather department also stated that the capital city, Bengaluru, is also likely to witness light rain for the next few days. It further stated that the rainfall is expected to reduce the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius, adding that the residents are also likely to witness gentle breezes and cloudy skies. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 28 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 21 degrees Celsius.
The IMD stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in several key regions, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. The weather department has also advised the fishermen of the coastal regions to maintain a distance from the water bodies and limit their financial activities for the next few days.
The IMD has also issued a rain alert for several other states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Maharashtra, for the next few days.
