A teenage Kerala girl has gone missing in Karnataka’s Chandradrona hill range during a family trip in the tourist area. The police have been conducting a rescue operation for over 24 hours now. This incident comes after a 36-year-old IT professional was rescued after being missing for four days in Karnataka's Kodagu area.
The 14-year-old missing girl has been identified as Sri Nanda, according to an NDTV report. The girl was accompanied by 40 relatives to the Chandradrona hills on April 7. The girl went missing at around 5:30 pm that day, after which, her family made wide-ranging efforts to locate her. When they could not find, the family members decided to lodge a complaint on April 8, said police as per the report.
The ghats and other difficult and inaccessible areas are being searched by the police. Drone surveillance is also being done in hopes to locate the missing teen. Apart from this, the Kerala Police is also actively engaged in search operations. Sri Nanda was also spotted with one of the family members in a video.
Kerala Techie Rescued After 4 Days
Sharanya, an IT professional from Kozhikode, had started to trek to the Tadiandamol peak with 15 others and a nature guide. However, when the group returned to the base camp that afternoon, she was nowhere to be found. A search operation was launched the same day.
Upon tracing her, Sharanya said that she lost her way while returning. She narrated that she did not find anyone from her group after climbing down. "I came to a left-side path but could not find anyone," she said.
Sharanya spent the next four days moving through the dense forest. The Kerala techie even tried to contact her colleague; however, her mobile phone died in the process. On the first night, she stayed near a stream, while she walked through the woods for the next three days. However, she was spotted by some locals in a remote area of the forest afterwards.
