Kolkata Law College Gangrape Case: In the wake of the shocking gangrape incident at South Calcutta Law College, the father of the prime accused, Manojit Mishra, has come forward to voice his faith in the country’s legal system. Responding to allegations against his son, he said, “The matter is subjudice and investigation is underway. I have been saying from the beginning that I have faith in the judiciary. The court will decide the further course of action.”

His remarks came as public attention intensified around the case, especially after reports emerged that Mishra had previously been estranged from his family due to his behaviour and was no longer living at home.

In his conversation with ANI, Mishra’s father defended his son’s right to a fair trial and questioned the delay in action by authorities if prior complaints against him existed. “I trust the state government, police and the administration. People are saying there were cases already registered against my son, so why was he not arrested back then? I am sure the truth will come out…” he said.
