Kolkata Metro Update: The Kolkata Metro Authority on Saturday stated that the metro services of the Blue Line will be reduced on Monday (Buddha Purnima). In an advisory, the authority stated that while 262 metro trains operate on the Kabi Subhash-Dakshineswar route on a daily basis, only 236 trains will operate on Buddha Purnima. It further advised the commuters to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.

The advisory stated that while the number of trains on the Blue Line has been reduced, the train timings of the first and the last trains has not been changed. It stated that the services on the Blue Line will start at 6.50 am on the Noapara to Kabi Subhash and Kabi Subhash to Dakshineswar routes. It further added that the metro from Dakshineswar to Kabi Subhash and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to Dakshineswar routes will run from 6.55 am.

Additional Night Metro Train To Operate 

Apart from this, the authority also clarified that the last trains will also operate as per its timings. While the last metro from Kabi Subhash to Dakshineswar will leave at 9.30 pm, the last train from Dakshineswar to Kabi Subhash will leave at 9.28 pm, adding that the last train from Kabi Subhash to Dum Dum will leave at 9.40 pm. It further stated that an additional special night metro will leave at 10.40 pm to provide convenience to the commuters.

However, the authority clarified that the train services on Green Line 1, Green Line 2, Purple Line, and Orange Line will remain normal on Monday. The authority has decided to increase the number of trains on the Joka-Majherhat route of the Purple Line to provide relief to the commuters of this route. The advisory stated that a total of 62 metros will operate from Tuesday, May 13.
