Kolkata Metro Yellow Line Update: In a major relief for the commuters in Kolkata, the Metro Railway Kolkata has announced to run services on the new Noapara-Airport corridor on weekends as well, a spokesperson of the rapid transit system said on Thursday.

The 6.77-km Noapara (Baranagar)-Jai Hind Biman Bandar (airport) corridor, also known as the Yellow Line, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 22.

The weekend services will start from this week (September 13-14). The spokesperson said, "In view of the preference of passengers to travel along this (6.77 km) stretch, Metro Railway has decided to operate services on Saturdays and Sundays from this week (September 13-14) as well between Noapara and Jai Hind Biman Bandar stations".

He further said that the ridership on the new Yellow Line crossed the 7,000 mark on September 8.

Kolkata Metro Yellow Line: Timings on weekends

-On Saturdays, the services will start at 7.35 AM and the final train will run at 8.32 PM.

-On Sundays, the first train will run at 8.35 AM and will continue till 8.22 PM.

Yellow Line: Stations 

The Yellow Line is planned from Noapara to Barasat in North 24 Parganas. It is a 16.876 km corridor with 10 planned metro stations. At present, only 4 stations are open as part of the 6.77-km stretch between Noapara and Jai Hind.
