With the Federation of All India Medical Association (AIMA) calling for a nationwide protest against the assault and murder of female doctors at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, the patients are facing issues. The incident has shaken the entire nation. Meanwhile, the Tuesday protest has affected patients as doctors are on strike in all major hospitals including AIIMS, Safdarjung, RML, Loknayak, GB Pant in Delhi for the second consecutive day.
The Outpatient Department (OPD) at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata was shut as patients arrived for medical and health services and stood in a queue amid uncertainty over services.
Sheikh Shahzad who came to avail OPD services said, "We have not been told anything so far. I asked the security guard here but he said that he is unable to tell us anything. We are standing here for 2 hours now. We have no information. The administration is not telling us anything. We are being asked for our prescription to enter the campus."
Another patient standing in the queue said that he had been standing there for over 2 hours.
The patient stated, "have been standing here for 2 hours. We don't know if the hospital is open. Nobody has told us anything."

Accused Had Fervid Porn Addiction, Reveals Police
The Kolkata Police revealed that Sanjay Roy, who was arrested for assaulting and killing a female doctor, was a porn addict and many such videos were found in his phone.
"The pornography content in his mobile phone was quite disturbing and violent. We wonder about the state of his mind as watching such things is quite unnatural," the police was quoted as saying by PTI.
The police has also found that Roy married four times and had a history of physically assaulting his wives. He was also known to be a womaniser, the cop informed the news agency.
Calcutta High Court Sends Principal Of RG Kar Medical College On Leave
The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday directed Dr Sandip Ghosh, the principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital to go on leave.
"The girl who died was like my daughter... as a parent, I am resigning," Dr Ghosh had said, who came under fire for remarks deemed to be victim-blaming and for failing to safeguard staff safety. However, he was reappointed as Principal of the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital 24 hours later.
Bengal Women To Hold Midnight Protest
The women of Bengal are set to hold a midnight protest tomorrow, August 14, as a part of the nationwide protest against the sexual assault and murder of the 31-year-old doctor in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
Posters appeared on social media inviting women to join the protest to show solidarity with the incident.

Doctors and medical students of Sawai Man Singh Medical College held a protest against the sexual assault and murder of a woman post-graduate trainee (PGT) doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, on August 9.
AIMA has also called for a nationwide shutdown of OPD services from today, August 13 over the rape-murder incident.

Union Minister Attacks Mamata Banerjee Over 'Delay In CBI Inquiry'
Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar on Tuesday took a swipe at the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the Kolkata doctor rape, and murder case, and said that the CM is delaying the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry in the matter.
"The CM is delaying it-if she wants to have a CBI inquiry in this matter, she should hand it over soon as proofs in such cases do not remain for many days," said Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar.
Doctors Summoned For Questioning In Rape-Murder Case
Four junior doctors are among those summoned by Kolkata police for questioning on Tuesday in connection with the murder and alleged sexual assault case of a second-year postgraduate student at a government-run hospital in the city last week.
The junior doctors of the RG Kar Medical College in the city have been summoned today at the Kolkata police headquarters in Lalbazar.
'TMC Govt Suppressing Truth': BJP
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government of "hiding" and "suppressing the truth" in the incident.
"On one side, doctors are protesting across the country over the murder and alleged sexual assault of a junior doctor...Mamata Banerjee government is trying to hide and suppress the truth (in this case)," he alleged in a video posted on his social media account, X, on Tuesday morning.
"...Attempts were being made to turn this murder case into a suicide. That is why the Mamata government is dragging its feet on a CBI probe...," he further alleged.
A post-graduate trainee doctor was allegedly found raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9, which has led to widespread outrage and protests.
In a strong display of support, doctors, and students in several hospitals across multiple states went on an indefinite strike, demanding justice for the victim.
