Several users on X have posted that a clash occurred between the army and PLA troops in the Burtse area of eastern Ladakh. It was claimed that the incident took place at Pillar Point 12 in Ladakh and involved 14 soldiers from the Garhwal regiment and China. As this rumor rapidly spread, the army came forward to refute it.

However, unrest at LAC is not a new issue. During 2020, the armies of both countries faced each other in eastern Ladakh. There was even a clash between them in the Galwan Valley of eastern Ladakh. This was the first fatal confrontation between the two sides since 1975. Both the sides since have been holding meetings to ease tensions at the border. A significant de-escalation has also reportedly taken place.
