In a fresh development around the Leh violence, four accused wanted by the Ladakh police surrendered in a local court on Saturday as investigation continues. 

Speaking about the surrender, the officials said that among the four accused who surrendered in the court were two councillors, StanzinTsepag and Smanla Dorje Norbu, who were also named in the FIR registered in connection with the violence in Leh on Wednesday.

The accused have claimed they surrendered voluntarily and maintain their innocence. The police officials stated that the law will take its course in the case against them under the relevant laws.

Earlier in the day, Ladakh DGP Dr SD Singh Jamwal held a press conference in Leh. He revealed that they had arrested a Pakistani PIO recently, who was in touch with Sonam Wangchuk and was reporting back to Pakistan. DGP Jamwal also claimed that Wangchuk had visited a Dwan event in Pakistan and Bangladesh, which raises a big question.

"Sonam Wangchuk has had a history of instigating. He has referred to the Arab Spring, Nepal and Bangladesh. The investigation into his funding is going on for FCRA violation," the DGP added.

DGP also said that on the first day of violence, when the injured were shifted, there were 2-3 Nepalis with bullet injuries admitted to the hospital. After their verification, 2-3 more such elements have come out. Three were confirmed to be Nepali nationals and were admitted in the hospital.
