Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will campaign in Madhya Pradesh for the Lok Sabha polls. He will hold a rally in support of Congress candidates. Preparations are underway for the same in the Guna and Gwalior Lok Sabha constituencies of the state. Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has sent a proposal for the rally to the high command. This comes as the SP will not be fighting for any seat in MP.

The only Lok Sabha seat that the SP got under the alliance was Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. Congress is contesting elections on 28 seats in the state. In the past, SP had fielded Manoj Yadav for the Khajuraho seat. However, Meira Yadav was announced as the contender in her place in less than 48 hours. Meanwhile, Meira Yadav's nomination has been revoked because of a mistake in the nomination form.
