Ujjain Mahakal Temple Fire: A fire erupted during the Bhasma Aarti ceremony at the Ujjain Mahakal temple on Monday morning, leading to chaos and injuries among priests and temple staff. Among the injured was the Chief priest of Bhasma Aarti, Sanjay Guru. The incident occurred when Holi celebrations were underway.

Officials reported that the incident occurred in the 'garbhagriha' of the temple. Thirteen individuals were injured in the fire and were immediately taken to the Ujjain district hospital for medical treatment, as reported by news agency ANI.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan took account of the situation and wrote on X.

Neeraj Kumar Singh, the District Collector, confirmed the incident and stated that the injured individuals are currently undergoing medical treatment.
"The fire broke out during Bhasma Aarti in the 'garbhagriha'. 13 people are injured in the incident and their medical treatment is underway," said District Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh, as reported by news agency ANI.

Priest Ashish Sharma said, "The traditional Holi celebrations were being held in Mahakal Temple. The fire spread in 'garbhagriha' due to 'gulaal'. Priests of the temple got injured. We have rushed them to the hospital."

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and taking necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of visitors and staff at the temple premises.
