Madhya Pradesh Weather: The weather is preparing for a strong rainfall across Madhya Pradesh this coming weekend. Some areas may see isolated flooding as a result of exceptionally strong rains. In certain places, rainy periods might extend up to four days, with bad weather conditions for 24 to 48 hours. The wet period might interfere with connectivity and disturb everyday life.
A cyclonic circulation is now observed up to the middle layers of the atmosphere across Gangetic West Bengal and neighbouring Jharkhand. On August 2, this system is expected to proceed westward, eventually reaching Chhatisgarh, the southern regions of Uttar Pradesh, and the nearby border districts of Northeast Madhya Pradesh.
The system is expected to make its way to the eastern and central regions of Madhya Pradesh the next day. Additionally, this is the time of year when the state's centre and southern regions are experiencing very unfavourable weather, which can lead to isolated flood-like situations and disrupt communication.
Heavy Rains Till August 8
Although there will be moderate to heavy rains for a week throughout the state between August 2 and August 8, the intensity and distribution will change day by day. On August 3, there is a chance of intense rain, thunderstorms, lightning, high gusts, and blinding rain in the eastern and central regions.
These Areas Are At Risk
Jabalpur, Umaria, Mandla, Sagar, Dindori, Narsinghpur, Raisen, and Damoh are among the places that would be in danger. Even the neighbouring town of Vidisha and the capital city of Bhopal will see short bursts of moderate to strong thundershowers.
Low Intensity Rainfall In These Areas
The weather system will make its way to west and central Madhya Pradesh on August 4, although its intensity is expected to decrease. Thundershowers and moderate rain are expected to persist until August 6. Extreme North Madhya Pradesh, which includes Gwalior, Guna, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Tikamgarh, Bhind, and Morena, will get the least amount of precipitation during this time.
Soon, between August 8 and August 10, there will be another spell that will also lash these areas.
