In the latest updates, in the Maharashtra family suicide case, an old social media post of the mother has surfaced, raising suspicions of a bigger familial dispute. The post shared by Sangeeta Changude accused someone, saying, 'You took away my son's and my property rights. You poisoned the peace of my family and destroyed my happy family.” However, in the post the woman did not name anyone.
The developments come two days after a family of three fell into a 250-foot gorge on a cliff on a hill in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The deceased have been identified as Kunal (18), Murlidhar (father, 48) and Sangita Changude (mother). It is alleged that the family of three died by suicide over a dispute on EMIs for the teenager's iPhone. Police have revealed that Kunal had previously attempted suicide by jumping from the same Khadavda hill in 2025.

The post shared by Sangita said, "You've taken me and my son right from the property. You did not even let your brothers and parents stay together. You’ve destroyed my happy family. You’ve poisoned the peace of my family. You’ve drifted my son away from his parents. Your upcoming seven generations will suffer; that’s my curse.
A long-standing family dispute
Jagran sources said the couple's elder son died of illness six years ago, and they had been embroiled in a family dispute since then.
Due to tensions at home, Murlidhar immersed himself in work and wouldn't return home for months. Just two days before the family members' deaths, Murlidhar returned home after three months, further exacerbating the tension at home.
