CM Mamata Vs PM Modi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday took a jibe at the Modi government in the presence of Union Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal at public event in Kolkata, accusing the Centre of withholding funds for the state. While addressing an inauguration event of the new building of the Circuit Bench, Jalpaiguri of the High Court at Calcutta, Banerjee says, "My Law Minister, please don't mind, though the government of India stopped this fund, we are continuing 88 fast track courts. Out of that 52 are for women and 7 POCSO courts."

TMC Govt Looting Public Money: PM Modi

Banerjee's statement comes almost simultaneous to PM Modi's speech at public event in Malda, West Bengal, in which he unleashed attacks on the Mamata government, saying her government is looting public funds.

"Heartless and cruel TMC government is looting public money, preventing Central aid from reaching Bengal people. I am certain that Bengal will give BJP overwhelming mandate in the upcoming assembly election. Centre sent flood relief funds 40 times to Bengal, but those who suffered didn't get it," alleged the PM at the Malda rally.

There Should Be No casteism, Religionism In judiciary: CM

Continuing her speech, the chief minister said there should be no casteism or religionism in the country's judicial system. Banerjee also said media trials before disposal of cases in court must stop.

"I congratulate the common people who have trust and confidence in this judiciary system. Let this judiciary system be of the people, by the people, for the people. The judiciary is the custodian of our Constitution. It is our request on behalf of all the people of this country that there should not be any casteism or religionism. Let us work together, let us speak for unity, let us think for unity, let us work for unity," CM Banerjee said.
