A brawl erupted in UP’s Hamirpur between a street vendor and a man after the latter demanded some extra golgappas (water balls). The video of the incident has been getting fervidly viral across social media platforms.
As per a report in Indiatimes, the man, identified as Kishor Kumar came to the vendor, Ram Sevak, to eat golgappas. After eating five golgappas for Rs 10, the man insisted he be given seven. The verbal spat turned violent and the duo was in the middle of the street. An onlooker captured the incident on camera in the centre of Hamirpur, near Akil Tiraha.
After the video of the incident went viral, the police have launched a probe into the case. Kishore left the scene before police arrived and his whereabouts are being ascertained.
Ram Sevak, the victim, has not filed a formal complaint with the police, claiming his unwillingness to engage in legal proceedings.
Earlier in 2021, a bizarre fight broke out in UP’s Bagpath between the chaat sellers of a popular city market over getting more customers to their stall. The brawl continued for about 20 minutes before it was stopped by locals and bystanders. The event got many names including the Battle of Baghpat and Baghpat Chaat Yuddh. While escalated fistfights are quite common in our country and for our country’s media, what made the Battle of Baghpat stand out was one distinct figure involved in the violence: a middle-aged man with frizzy, uncombable hair who was later dubbed as “Einstein Chacha” by social media. Police however took cognisance of the matter and people involved in the fight were arrested.
Netizens have been celebrating the anniversary of the incident, that took place in February 2021.
