In Manipur, PM Modi inaugurated developmental projects worth over Rs 7,000 crore and also laid the foundation stones for various projects worth Rs 1,200 crore.

During his visit, PM Modi visited Churachandpur – one of the worst-hit districts – and Imphal, where he met the victims of the Manipur violence. Since the clashes between these two groups, over 260 people have been killed, while nearly 50,000 have been displaced. PM first arrived in Imphal (a Meitei stronghold) in the morning and proceeded to Churachandpur (a Kuki stronghold).
