MARCOS Commandos: Showcasing the military might of the Indian Navy, the elite MARCOS commandos successfully concluded the rescue operation of the crew members on board the Liberian-flagged cargo ship MV Lila Norfolk. Video footage of commandos of India's marine special force onboarding the giant cargo ship mid-Arabian sea was released by the Indian Navy and currently trending on social media.
In the first video, marine personnel were seen approaching the ship on a high-speed motorboat probably to secure entry on the vessel. The footage taken from the helicopter attending the rescue call, also provided a glimpse of the preparedness of the commandos as they jumped out of the speedboat as soon as it came close enough to the merchant ship.

Earlier, the Indian naval warship INS Chennai intercepted the cargo ship in the afternoon. The marine commandos or the elite 'MARCOS' on board the INS Chennai had started the sanitisation operation on the ship to rescue the crew and the ship, reported ANI. Indian Navy received an SOS message on the UKTMO portal from the vessel (a bulk carrier cargo ship), it deployed a Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) to take stock of the situation.
