A day after former Bihar CM Lalu Yadav attacked PM Modi for his dynasty politics comment, top BJP leaders, including Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkari, made a symbolic gesture by altering their names on the social media platform X. The leaders added "Modi ka Parivar" (Modi's family) in front of their names as a show of solidarity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Lalu Yadav, during the Rashtriya Janata Dal's 'Jan Vishwas Maha Rally' at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, took aim at PM Modi's comments on dynasty politics, questioning why the Prime Minister does not have children.

“Modi talks about dynastic politics, but what is dynastic politics? You (Modi) should explain why don't you have children?," the RJD leader said.

Union ministers such as Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal, and BJP national president JP Nadda were among the first to update their profile names on the microblogging site X with the prefix "Modi ka Parivar".

PM Modi's recent statement during a speech in Telangana, where he declared that "140 crore countrymen are my family", served as a rallying cry for BJP leaders. He said that every individual in India, regardless of background, belongs to his family.

"140 crore countrymen are my family. Today, crores of daughters, mothers and sisters of the country are Modi's family. Every poor person in the country is my family. Those who have no one, they also belong to Modi and Modi belongs to them. My India-My family, with the expansion of these feelings, I am living for you, fighting for you and will continue to fight for you, to fulfill my dreams with determination," Modi said.

The Prime Minister's assertion of ‘Modi ka Parivar’ was a direct rebuttal to Lalu Yadav's criticism The Prime Minister sought to project himself as the leader of every Indian, irrespective of their socio-economic status or political affiliation.

The BJP's move to modify their social media profiles echoes the "Main Bhi Chowkidar" campaign launched on X (then Twitter) in 2019 ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
