Madhya Pradesh Congress senior leader and former Assembly Speaker NP Prajapati’s son, Nir Prajapati, was reportedly caught on camera assaulting two men. An FIR has been registered at Kotwali police station against him and his nephews, Amit (also known as Ammu) Prajapati and Vinod Prajapati.

The alleged assault, which occurred on September 10, came to light after a video went viral on social media on Friday. In the footage, Nir Prajapati can be seen hurling abuses and boasting that "half of Bhopal fears his name." Making matters more serious, NP Prajapati, former Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, is also visible in the video, apparently attempting to intervene even as the assault unfolded.

The victims, Aniket Bairagi and Neeraj Bairagi, filed an official complaint with the Kotwali police. Aniket stated that the issue arose from a dispute on September 3 between his brother-in-law, Neeraj, and Amit Prajapati. In an attempt to resolve the matter peacefully, Aniket went to the Prajapati residence to talk it over. However, he alleged that instead of reaching a resolution, he was subjected to verbal abuse, threats, and physical assault.

Kotwali Station Officer Gaurav Chante confirmed the case and said, "The video has been circulating on social media for some days. Until now, no one had filed a complaint. Following the complaint by Aniket Bairagi, a case has been registered.”
