Meanwhile, heavy showers since early morning in the city have hit railway and bus services on Friday. In some low-lying areas, the incessant rain with intermittent heavy spells has led to waterlogging. Several railway tracks are also facing waterlogging.
According to PTI, the suburban trains were on Friday morning running at least 15 to 20 minutes late. A railway official also said that water has accumulated on tracks and Chunabhatti on the harbor line due to heavy showers coupled with high tide.
High tides and heavy rains can potentially cause flooding in low-lying areas as water doesn't flow into the sea during that time.
