Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Minister of State for the Prime Minister's Office, Jitendra Singh, visited Medanta Hospital in Gurugram late Tuesday night to enquire about the health of activist Sonam Wangchuk, news agency PTI reported, citing sources.

The activist was shifted from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital for further treatment in compliance with a Delhi High Court order. He was brought to the hospital in an ambulance at around 7:30 PM under tight security.

Heavy Security Deployment Outside At Medanta Hospital

Security measures were heightened in and around Medanta Hospital following the news of Wangchuk's arrival. A police force has been deployed outside the hospital premises, with security personnel stationed at entry gates conducting mandatory identity checks and screening all visitors before granting access.

As precautionary measures to respond to any emergency, police have deployed a Vajra vehicle on the hospital premises.

Pradhan Reacts To Congress' Sit-In

After Congress held a fierce sit-in protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, on Tuesday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan accused Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi of exploiting students as political tools to manufacture disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

"LoP Shri @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia continue to shamelessly exploit students as political tools to manufacture disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Shri @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia chose to stage a dharna outside the Hon'ble Prime Minister's residence, causing inconvenience to the public and disregarding established security protocols," he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

The Union Minister targeted the Congress party in his statement, while choosing not to address the student protest directly.

Over 5,000 Protesters Reclaim Jantar Mantar; Wangchuk Continues Fast From Hospital

Over 5,000 demonstrators gathered at Jantar Mantar to reclaim the protest site following heavy clashes with the Delhi Police during Monday's 'Sansad Chalo' march. Organisers from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) announced that while the protest will continue indefinitely, further marches toward Parliament have been suspended due to alleged police action during Monday's demonstration.

Meanwhile, Sonam Wangchuk remains the central figure of the movement as his hunger strike, which began on June 29, enters its fourth week. Despite his transfer to Medanta Hospital, his wife, Gitanjali Angmo, confirmed that Wangchuk is continuing his fast from his hospital bed in solidarity with students reportedly injured during the police action.

Delhi Police Register 6 FIRs Over 'Sansad Chalo' Violence

The Delhi Police have registered six FIRs in connection with alleged violence, vandalism, and other incidents during the 'Sansad Chalo' march on July 20. The cases, filed across key locations, including Parliament Street and Connaught Place, invoke multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.

According to news agency PTI, investigators are likely to probe a 'larger criminal conspiracy 'behind the clashes, examining evidence of prior planning, unauthorised drone operations, stone-pelting, and attacks on security personnel.
