The Railways is gearing up to launch special trains in anticipation of the upcoming Navratri and Eid festivals. With a potential surge in passengers, the railway administration has begun preparations to ensure smooth travel for all.
Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, emphasised that necessary measures are being implemented to manage the crowd effectively at stations. Additionally, special trains will be running to key destinations, including Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, along with five other locations, to accommodate the influx of travellers.

New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Special (04085/04086)
During Navratri, a large number of people travel from Delhi and nearby cities to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. Due to this, there is hardly any space on the trains going to Katra and Jammu. For the convenience of passengers, a special train will run from New Delhi at 12:30 pm from March 28 to 31. On the return journey, the train will leave Katra at 7:30 am from March 29 to April 1. It will stop at Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Dhandhari Kalan, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi and Balidani Captain Tushar Mahajan Udhampur railway stations. General, Sleeper, and AC class coaches will be available.
Old Delhi-Varanasi Special (04024/04023)
From Old Delhi, another special train will run to Varanasi from 28 to 30 March. This will depart from Old Delhi at 7:30 pm and on the return journey, the train will leave Varanasi from March 29 to 31 at 6:35 pm. It will stop at Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Almora, Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh railway stations. General, Sleeper, and AC class coaches will be available.
New Delhi-Patna Special (04088/04097)
From New Delhi, this special train will depart at 3:50 pm from March 28 to April 1. On the return journey, it will leave Patna at 12:00 pm from March 29 to April 2. The train will stop at Govindpuri, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, Ara and Danapur railway stations. Only AC class coaches will be available.
New Delhi-Saharsa Special (04090/04089)
From New Delhi, this special train will depart at 2:15 pm on March 28 and 31. On the return journey, it will leave Saharsa at 6:45 pm on March 29 and April 1. This train, with Sleeper and General coaches, will stop at Govindpuri, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Patliputra, Hajipur, Baroni, Begusarai, Khagaria, and Mansi railway stations.
New Delhi-Indore Special (04092/04091)
From New Delhi, this special train will depart at 3:30 PM on March 28 and 30. On the return journey, it will leave Indore at 11:30 am on March 29 and 31. General, Sleeper, and AC class coaches will be available, and it will stop at Mathura, Kota, Nagda and Ratlam railway stations.
