A video from Goa airport has gone viral showing a group of Gujarati passengers performing Garba after their flight to Surat was delayed by five hours. Scheduled to depart at 5 p.m. on Saturday, the flight’s delay prompted the Navratri-bound passengers to celebrate at the terminal itself.
In the clip, travellers can be seen clapping to traditional beats, twirling and swaying in a circle, while a man in the centre urges them to widen the circle to let more people join. Airline staff also step in to tap their feet to the music, as other waiting passengers watch and enjoy the impromptu celebration.
Mayur, one of the passengers, shared that he had travelled to Goa for work but wanted to finish early and return to Surat to celebrate Navratri, the nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga. Although he had initially booked train tickets, delays forced him to cancel and opt for a flight instead. To his surprise, the flight too was delayed by five hours. However, the setback did not dampen his or his fellow passengers’ spirits, they turned the Goa airport into a festive arena and performed Garba together.
A flight attendant set up speakers, and soon passengers and airline staff alike were clapping, twirling, and swaying in circles to the traditional beats.

Earlier today, a video from Mumbai Airport showing airline crew and CRPF personnel dancing to Garba beats has gone viral. Industrialist Harsh Goenka shared the clip on X, capturing passengers, airport staff, and even pilots joining the Navratri celebrations.
In the video, participants, including members of the airport crew, can be seen enthusiastically dancing to the Garba track. Sharing the clip, Goenka wrote, “At Mumbai Airport, passengers, pilots, staff, loaders, all moving to the same beat. No other airport in the world has this spirit. This is India.” While many praised the positivity and excitement of the celebration, the video also sparked debate online, with some users raising concerns about public decorum and civic sense.
