As the opposition parties concluded their two-day brainstorm to take on the ruling BJP-led NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi launched a sharp attack and declared that the alliances "built on negativity has never won". Speaking at the meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, PM Modi said that the Congress used coalitions in the 1990s to destabilise the country by forming governments and then pulling it down. He added that, On the other hand, the NDA was formed to bring stability and not to topple any government.
Countering the opposition parties, who have announced their new name as the I.N.D.I.A (India National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the NDA stands for "New India, Development, Aspiration". In a veiled attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remark at an event in London, questioning why the "defenders to democracies" were unmoved over the prevailing state of affairs in India, PM Modi said that even when the NDA was in opposition, it never insulted the mandate of the people or took help from foreign powers to destablize the ruling governments.
INDIA: The Grand Opposition Alliance
On Tuesday, 26 political parties came together from across the country and held a meeting in Bengaluru to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha election together under the banner of India (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance). Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced that the alliance of like-minded parties will be called INDIA. He also said that there will be an 11-member co-ordination committee. It will be set up shortly, and names will be decided. The Congress chief added that in the last meeting at Patna, there were 16 parties together, and now there are 26 parties.

Attacking Prime Minister Modi, the former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said that the fight is not between two political formations but to defend the idea of India. The fight is between the Idea of India and Narendra Modi, he added.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at PM Modi and said that he could have done a lot of things, but he has destroyed all sectors. He also said that the opposition parties have gathered not for themselves but to save the country from hatred.
The next meeting of the opposition parties has been scheduled to be held in Mumbai, and the dates will be announced soon. This was the second meeting of the opposition parties. The first meeting was held in Patna and was hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
National Democratic Alliance Celebrates Nine Years Of PM Modi-Led Government
The National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had said that 38 National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners had confirmed their attendance at the meeting. The meeting was chaired by PM Modi and was organised to mark the completion of nine years of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Meeting was seen as a show of strength by the ruling alliance amid a get-together of opposition parties to forge unity. Speaking at the event, PM Modi claimed that the NDA will secure over 50 per cent of the total votes polled in next year's Lok Sabha elections. "The NDA got 38 per cent (of the total votes polled) in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Acknowledging the work that we put in to safeguard our national interests, they reposed their faith in us and gave us 45 per cent of the (total) vote share in the 2019 elections. All our alliance partners are working sincerely and dedicatedly, which gives me the confidence that we will get over 50 per cent vote share in 2024," PM Modi said, as quoted by news agency PTI.
He also said that the NDA has always put the country over selfish political interests, adding that the abuse of rivals has become the identity of the Opposition parties.
Ahead of the meeting of the NDA, Prime Minister Modi shared a tweet, expressing his delight at the NDA partners from across the country arriving in the national capital for the hudde.
PM Modi took to Twitter to post," It is a matter of immense joy that our valued NDA partners from across India will be attending the meeting in Delhi today. Ours is a time-tested alliance which seeks to further national progress and fulfil regional aspirations."
