A 55-year-old Delhi police official died after he allegedly shot himself using his personal revolver in  South-East Delhi's Jangpura area on Wednesday. The deceased, Anil Sisodia was an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), South- West zone.

"A 55-year-old ACP of Delhi Police, identified as Anil Sisodia, allegedly died by suicide by shooting himself at his residence in Jangpura. His wife passed away three days back," NDTV cited the Delhi Police as saying.

Prima facie, it appeared that the deceased was depressed due to his wife's death, the Times of India reported.

Reportedly, Anil performed his duties a day before till 9 pm and was not answering calls and messages since then. Upon receiving the information, police rushed tu Sisodis's home and recovered his body which was then sent for autopsy.

An investigation has been launched to ascertain the reason of the death.

In another incident, a 26-year-old Delhi police constable, died by suicide in South Delhi's Mehrauli on Monday. The deceased, Lalthan Mawil, was found hanging at her rentended apartment. A suicide note was also recovered by the police from her residence

"It was found that the victim, hailing from Mizoram, who was posted as a constable at Kishangarh Police Station committed suicide at her rented apartment in Mehrauli area. She committed suicide by hanging herself," PTI quoted the Delhi Police officials as saying.
