Assam banks will remain shut on September 21 following the birth anniversary of 15th century saint, poet, social reformer and Vaishnavite scholar, Srimanta Sankardeva.

Srimanta Sankardeva was born in 1449 in Assam, and he is considered the founder of the Ekasarana Namadharma tradition.
Bank Holiday In Kerala
In Kerala, September 21 is observed as Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day. The day commemorates the death anniversary of Sree Narayana Guru, a prominent spiritual leader and social reformer who challenged caste discrimination and social inequality.
The observance is particularly associated with Sivagiri Math in Varkala, where Sree Narayana Guru attained Samadhi.
