An alleged audio recording of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi threatening Dubai-based businessman Sahil Jain, alias ‘Google’, has resurfaced after two motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire outside his house in northwest Delhi’s Pitampura early Wednesday, PTI reported.

Police are investigating a possible Lawrence Bishnoi gang link and suspect the shooting could be connected to an extortion attempt, although neither the gang’s involvement nor the motive has been established.

The incident comes 10 days after gunmen opened fire at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in Mumbai on October 18. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang subsequently claimed responsibility for that attack through a social media post, while an audio message attributed to gang associate Anil Pandit surfaced with threats against people associated with actor Salman Khan.

In the latest incident, two unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle in the Lok Vihar area of Pitampura around 5 am and fired six rounds at Jain’s residence. Bullets struck a wall and a car parked outside the house. No injuries were reported.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Akansha Yadav said Jain had received a threat from Bishnoi in 2021, and a case relating to the threat was registered with the Special Cell in 2023.

“There was no fresh threat after that. No one has claimed responsibility for the firing, and we are working on the intelligence,” Yadav said.

Police are examining CCTV footage showing two men arriving on a motorcycle, with one allegedly stepping off and firing several rounds before both fled. Investigators have formed teams to identify the suspects and are checking their entry and exit routes.

Lawrence Bishnoi Threat Audio

The firing has brought renewed attention to an audio recording purportedly featuring Bishnoi threatening Jain and his family during a phone conversation in 2021, according to News18.

In the clip, Jain can allegedly be heard saying, “Brother, the call got disconnected.”

The person identified in the recording as Bishnoi then allegedly responds, “You clearly don’t know who I am, ‘Google Bhai’. Go ahead and record this if you want. The day any of you or those close to you, or your family members fall into my hands, I will tear you all apart. Keep recording this; it will make it easier for you to file a case later.”

The recording’s emergence has drawn attention to the earlier threat as police investigate whether Wednesday’s shooting was intended to intimidate Jain or was connected to an extortion demand. However, officials have said there was no fresh threat reported after the earlier case, and no gang has claimed responsibility for the latest firing.

Tiger Shroff Firing Case Brought Bishnoi Gang Back Into Focus

The Pitampura shooting follows the October 18 firing incident targeting Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Three men allegedly opened fire as the actor’s vehicle was leaving a venue, with seven rounds reportedly fired. Shroff escaped without serious injury, while his driver and a bystander were injured.

After the incident, individuals identifying themselves as Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu claimed responsibility on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. An audio message attributed to Pandit also threatened people who continued to work with Salman Khan.

Investigators are now probing the Pitampura firing separately to establish the identities of the attackers, their motive and whether any organised criminal gang was involved. The possible connection to the Bishnoi gang remains an investigative angle, not a confirmed finding.
