  1. Delhi Police on high alert for CJP Connaught Place protest.
  2. Top cops to meet for security, traffic management strategy.
  3. CJP founder Dipke's call after leaders' Jantar Mantar arrest.

Cockroach Janta Party's Tiranga hoisting call at Connaught Place's Central Park has sent Delhi Police on high alert. Top Delhi cops on Thursday will hold a high-level meeting at police headquarters.

The meeting will focus on strategising the security and traffic management for the planned protest on Friday. Among the participants would be special CPs from law and order zone I and II, crime branch, intelligence, traffic and special cell.

The meeting, to be headed by Delhi CP Anurag Kumar, would also see participation from Joint CP New Delhi, DCP New Delhi and others.

The security apparatus is on high alert as, unlike Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place has multiple entry points. The Delhi Police have already formally written to the Union Home Ministry seeking extension to the deployment of the 273 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in the capital till October 20.

The Delhi Police has cited further escalation of protests by the CJP and various other organisations towards Jantar Mantar and the Election Commission of India.

Dipke's Tiranga hoisting call

The call to 'patriots' to gather at Central Park on Friday was given by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday after his fellow CJP leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were arrested and sent to 5-day judicial custody on Tuesday over breach of bail bond by trespassing Jantar Mantar for a protest despite it being de-notified as a protest site.

Das and Ranka have been lodged in Tihar jail. Meanwhile, Dipke arrived in the capital from his hometown in Maharashtra on Wednesday. He was heckled by people at the airport, a video of which went viral on social media.
