In an unusual incident in Gujarat’s Vapi, a snake catcher saved the life of a 5-foot-long Dhaman snake by giving it CPR after it fainted upon coming into contact with chemical-contaminated water near an ETP plant in Vapi GIDC, Valsad district.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing snake catcher Sanjay Pawar trying to revive the unconscious snake. Pawar immediately reached the spot after learning that the reptile was struggling in water mixed with chemicals.

Snake Catcher Gives CPR To Save Dhaman

Pawar found the non-venomous Dhaman snake lying unconscious in the chemical-mixed water. The snake had reportedly fainted after coming into contact with the contaminated water.

Pawar then began efforts to revive the reptile. He put his mouth near the snake’s mouth and gave it artificial respiration, in what has been described as CPR, to restore its breathing.

Sanjay Pawar has been involved in snake rescue operations in Vapi, Valsad and surrounding areas for several years. He continued the rescue despite the potential risks of coming into contact with the chemical-rich water.

His efforts reportedly helped revive the snake and save its life.

Snake Kept Under Observation

The Dhaman snake is currently under observation. It will be released in a forest area after it fully recovers.

Pawar is also under medical observation for 24 hours due to the risk of an allergic reaction or infection after exposure to the chemical-contaminated water.

The unusual rescue has drawn attention on social media, with people praising Pawar for his efforts to save the snake.
