Pune Train Alert: In a major update for the passengers, the Railways has informed that the train services will remain affected in Pune between September 19 and October 4 due to the maintenance works. In its advisory, the authority stated that multiple local and long-distance trains will be cancelled, diverted, short-terminated or short-originated. The decision is likely to affect the passengers of several regions, including Pune, Mumbai and Solapur.
These services affected:
- Pune-Solapur Intercity Express (12169) and Solapur-Pune Intercity Express (12170) will remain cancelled from September 19 to 23 and October 3 to 4
- Solapur-Pune Express (11422) will only travel till Hadapsar on October 3
- Pune-Solapur Hutatma Express (12157) will face cancellation on the given dates
- As per the schedule, the Mumbai-Chennai Central Express (22159) will not travel to Pune and will pass via Kalyan, Igatpuri, Manmad and Daund from September 19 to 23 and October 4
- Apart from this, the Nagercoil-LTT Express (16340) and the Bengaluru-CSMT Udyan Express (11302) will also be diverted
While providing details, the officials stated that the works are being conducted to improve the infrastructure on the Pune-Hadapsar-Ghorpadi section. "These works are part of an important infrastructure upgrade for the Pune-Hadapsar-Ghorpadi section. Passengers should check their train status and revised timings before travelling, particularly those with journeys during the affected dates as some trains will be diverted or will not operate through Pune," Hemant Kumar Behera, Pune railway division spokesperson, was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.
The passengers have been advised to follow the schedule and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconveniences. In the coming weeks, the railways is expected to announce several special trains ahead of the festivals for the northern and eastern states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal.
