A UPSC aspirant from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Asha Uikey, died by suicide after struggling with repeated setbacks in her exam preparation. Her final written words were a haunting reminder of her dedication and pain: "No one becomes an IAS just like that, wake up from sleep now you have to read."
Asha, 25, had been living in rented accommodation in the Hiranagar police station area while preparing for the UPSC exams. Despite her determination, the pressure and continuous failures took a toll on her mental health.
Days before her mother was scheduled to visit after learning about her daughter's emotional struggles, Asha ended her life, according to an NDTV report.
When Asha stopped responding to phone calls, her worried family contacted her landlord, leading to the tragic discovery.

The police found motivational posters covering the walls of her room and an exercise notebook filled with writings. Asha had written nearly 20 pages, apologising to her parents and other loved ones, while also penning down motivational quotes in an attempt to keep herself going.
“She was writing motivational quotes to keep her spirits up,” police said. One of the posters read, "Wake up from sleep." The quotes and messages reflected her unwavering desire to succeed. In her notes, Asha expressed her wish to become someone significant and to achieve her dreams soon.
