Old Car Selling Safety Tips: Investigations into theDelhi blast near Red Fort have revealed that the explosives were placed inside a Hyundai i20 car registered in Haryana. According to officials, the vehicle had reportedly changed ownership several times over the past few months, with one of its previous owners traced to Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Authorities are now working with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to verify the car’s registration records and track its chain of ownership.

The Delhi Police and central agencies are probing how the car reached the Capital and whether all ownership transfers were properly documented. The Times Of India report cited Sources as stating that, “Officers are now tracing all intermediate buyers and brokers who may have handled the vehicle during resale.”

If you are planning to sell your car, here’s a checklist of essential documents you must have ready before completing the sale:

1. Car Related Documents

Registration Certificate (RC): Confirms vehicle ownership, must be updated accurately.

Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate: Ensures your vehicle meets emission standards.

Valid Car Insurance: Mandatory for ownership transfer.

Service History & Invoice (Optional): Adds credibility and transparency for the buyer.

2. Identity Proof Documents

PAN Card: Required for tax and transfer records (or Form 60 if unavailable).

Address Proof: Aadhaar, voter ID, passport, or electricity bill showing your current address.

Passport-Sized Photographs: Needed for ownership transfer forms.

3. RTO Forms and Legal Documents

Form 28: No Objection Certificate confirming no pending dues or cases.

Form 30: Confirms that all rights and liabilities have been transferred to the new owner.

Vehicle owners should complete all paperwork through the official Parivahan portal or local RTO to ensure a safe, traceable and legally sound transaction.
