PM Modi In Bihar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday vowed to "pursue the attackers" of the Pahalgam attack to the end of the Earth, saying that "India will identifty, trace and punish" every terrorist involved in the massacre. This is the first time PM Modi has made a public address since the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the death of at least 26 people, mostly tourists.

Before beginning his speech at the National Panchayati Raj Day programme in Bihar's Madhubani, PM Modi urged the gathering to observe silence as a mark of respect to "our family members" who lost their lives in the attack.

"Today, on the soil of Bihar, I say to the whole world, India will identify, trace and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth. India's spirit will never be broken by terrorism. Terrorism will not go unpunished. Every effort will be made to make sure that justice is done. The entire nation is one in this resolve. Everyone who believes in humanity is with us. I thank the people of various countries and their leaders who have stood with us," the prime minister said in Madhubani.

The prime minister further said that the attackers and their backers will be punished "beyond their imagination". "On April 22, terrorists killed innocent people of the country in J&K's Pahalgam. The country is sad and in pain after this incident. We stand with the families of the victims."

PM Modi said that the entire nation is saddened by the brutality with which terrorists killed innocent civilians in Pahalgam. "The terrorists will not be spared, strong action will be taken against them. The punishment will be significant and stringent, which these terrorists would have never even thought about," he added.

In a message to Pakistan without naming the country, PM Modi said he will state categorically that the terrorists who carried out the attack and those who hatched the conspiracy will be punished beyond their imagination. "Punishment will definitely be served." The prime minister said the willpower of 140 crore Indians will break the back of patrons of terrorism.

He said people lost their sons, brothers and husbands and noted that the victims belong to different parts of India, be it Bengal, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha and Bihar. "Our sorrow and anger are same from Kargil to Kanniyakumari," he said. Peace and security are the most necessary conditions for fast development, he added.
